Kate Meehan - Victory London - Gin Journey
I am the business development manager at Victory London Distillery and a partner of the Gin Journey.
In 2012, after 8 years of bartending and running bartender training programs in Liverpool, I made the move to London. Two years later, I met Leon Dalloway and supported him in growing the Gin Journey brand within the capital. In 2015 we found ourselves occupying Trip Advisors number one spot for ‘Things to do in London’ which led me to take the reigns and launch the concept in Liverpool, then 2 years later, Leeds.
At the start of 2016, I began working with Jamie Oliver’s Drinks Tube and then LFC TV to provide online content for their merge with Liverpool Gin. This year also saw me head back to Liverpool to support the development and opening of the Victorian-inspired cocktail bar, Furnivals Well.
I have spent the past 3 years running weekly make your gin classes across the country as well as supporting the development of a distillery and gin class program in Mallorca.
After 2 years of unofficially waxing lyrical about Victory London, I officially joined the team in 2018.
When I think of our Victory products I think clean, smooth and chewy. This is why The Vesper is my Victory serve of choice. After summarising the past 6 years of my life I could do with one.
40mls Victory Gin
20mls Victory Vodka
10mls Lillet Blanc (maybe we should make Quinquina guys??)
For me, this one is shaken, not stirred.
Chill your glass so it is ice cold.
Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
Shake short and fast.
The shaker will begin to frost very quickly when it does your ready to pour.
Double strain into your glass, twist some lemon peel over the top and drop it on in.
Extend your pinky and enjoy.
